About me | Rodrigo Marquez

Rodrigo Márquez

The eternal question: what am I? Photographer? Videographer? Filmmaker?

After more than 12 years doing this, I can say I'm the person who can help you shape your audiovisual project and see it through. I also want to be a film director and tell my own stories.

I work with people, brands and institutions that need more than technical documentation: they need a clear perspective, sensitivity to context, and a result that holds up over time.

I don't work from fixed formulas. Every project calls for its own pace, distance and visual language. Sometimes that means documenting quietly; other times, building a more deliberate narrative. Either way, the goal is the same: a result that works, honestly represents whoever commissioned it, and retains its value beyond the moment it was made.

Over the years I've developed a way of working that is both flexible and demanding. I care about reliability — delivering what's needed without friction — as much as I care about bringing creative judgment when it matters. I tend to fit naturally into existing teams, or take the lead when the project requires it.

Alongside that, I develop documentary and cinematic work exploring themes of memory, landscape and human experience. Among them: La Huella del Barro, about recovering memories after the Valencia floods, has been selected for more than 30 international cinema festivals and won several awards; La Segunda Línea, a portrait of those who held our society together during the hardest days of COVID; and Y tú, ¿qué harías?, nominated at Notodofilmfest.

I work directly and selectively. Not to produce at volume, but to stay close to each project and the people behind it.

If any of this resonates with you, tell me how I can help.
